Frequently Asked Questions
Do you sell frames?
I don’t at this time. I have a section here on my website that links to some amazing & affordable online custom vintage-style framing options.
Is the paper high quality?
Yes, it is a museum-grade print produced with a professional print shop in the United States. It is about the thickness of a cereal box. It has a textured surface which adds to the depth of the vintage art. It also has a matte finish.
How much is shipping, how long does it take, and how does it ship?
- Shipping is free.
- I use Ground Advantage which takes 3-6 days. I have expedited shipping available but additional charges apply. Message me if you need your order expedited.
- Smaller sizes (8x10 and smaller) ship flat in a thick, rigid mailing envelope in a cellophane sheet.
- Larger sizes (larger than 8x10) are rolled into a thick wrapping paper and shipped in a long tube box. This shipping method is safer and more cost effective than shipping large artwork flat.
How do I flatten out large artwork?
My personal recommendation is to gently unroll your print and place it directly into your frame. If you don't have a glass cover for your frame, you can unroll the print and place something flat and heavy on top until it flattens out enough to place into frame edges and secure with backing of choice. I never recommend rolling the print in the opposite direction because it's fairly thick and could bend the art paper at a weird angle that could cause a crease line.
Do I need glass/acrylic to frame these prints?
Nope! As long as it's not placed somewhere humid like a bathroom, you don't need glass or acrylic over the top. You do need to have some sort of backing or something to help hold the art in place though.
Do you create this art?
All of the prints in my shop are in the public domain, meaning they do not have any copyright due to the original artist being deceased for 70+ years (Those are the in the US where I operate).
Do you edit the art?
Yes I do. Every artwork is hand-restored. I fix undesirable blotches and spots while still trying to honor the character of the original piece. Some art has cracking (i.e Girl With Pearl Earring) and I tend to leave those as is because it adds to the charm of the piece. I also use several programs to upscale the art that way it can be printed at large sizes without losing any details.
Can I resell the art?
You can do whatever you want with your print(s) after purchasing:)
What happens if my order is damaged?
Shipping accidents happen (although very infrequent). Send me an email at ronerestorations@gmail.com and I will remedy the situation.
Do you offer wholesale prices?
Yes! I currently offer 20% off if you buy 3 or more prints.
- If you buy 10 or more, I offer 30% off.
- If you buy 20 or more, I offer 40% off.
Send me an email and I will create a special discount code for you.
